The Faculty of Health Sciences was initially established in 1997 under the name Eskişehir School of Health. In line with the decision taken by the Council of Ministers in 1996 to establish Schools of Health providing undergraduate education, the associate degree Nursing Program within the School of Health Services of our university was converted into an undergraduate program and transferred to the Eskişehir School of Health.

The Eskişehir School of Health began offering undergraduate education in the 1997–1998 academic year with students enrolled in the Department of Nursing. Subsequently, the Departments of Midwifery and Health Officer Training were established in the 2000–2001 academic year and began admitting students. Later, in the 2008–2009 academic year, the Department of Health Management was established and included in the educational activities.

With the amendment made to the Nursing Law on April 25, 2007, the Departments of Health Officer Training across the country and within the School were closed by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). The student quotas of the Health Officer Training Departments, which were considered equivalent to Nursing, were transferred to the Department of Nursing.

Within the scope of the school’s transformation into a faculty, the Departments of Audiology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, and Child Development were established in 2014. The Eskişehir School of Health was granted faculty status by the Council of Ministers Decision dated August 20, 2015 (No. 80052), published in the Official Gazette on August 27, 2015, and was renamed the Faculty of Health Sciences.

As of the 2016–2017 academic year, the Faculty of Health Sciences began admitting students to the Departments of Midwifery, Nursing, and Health Management. In 2020, the Department of Perfusion was added to the faculty.

Currently, educational activities are actively carried out in the Departments of Midwifery, Nursing, and Health Management. Student admission has not yet begun in the other departments, as the required academic staff and minimum physical infrastructure necessary to initiate and sustain education have not yet been met.
